أسلوبية السرد في رواية ذاكرة الجسد لأحلام مستغانمي
Abstract
Ahlam Mosteghanemi's "Memory of the Body" revolves around the following central themes: the lover, the narrator, the adored, Constantine, and the bridges. The plot of the novel veers away from what many other novels do. This work took a poetic turn to explore the effective use of rhetorical methods and creative energy, changing its fictional language into one that is full of poetic imagery and leaves the reader feeling extremely touched. This study made use of analogy, metaphor, contrast, metonymy, and antagonism. It additionally serves as the prototype and first poetic novel by successfully implementing those devices.
The narrative placed the most attention on the lover, then on the city (Constantine) and its symbolic bridges. This is because it serves as a record of the political events that shaped Algeria's history and ultimately the fate of the narrator (Khaled bin Toban), the lover, and the country as a whole. The narrator's dominance first surfaced in the novel and continued to grow. As a result, it gained weight in the story and had the astonishing capacity to meld the contrasts in time and narrative.
In the story, three well-known people from the worlds of art and literature-Khaled Al-Rassam, writer Hayat, and Ziyad Al-Shaer-are brought together. This is a crucial connection between the main characters and the revolutionary movement, in which, it unites Khaled and Ziyad.
Hayat acted as Constantine's literary embodiment throughout all of the novels, since the tragic death of the hero represented a reality brought on by Algeria's political and social circumstances. The way it ultimately turned out (the fall of Hayat) is similar to the political and
.social collapse of Constantine
