Abstract

Anew mannich base (2-diphenyl amino methyl-2- thion -5-phenyl-1,3,4-oxadiazole) (Z) have been prepared in an attempt to introduce the amino methyl moiety in the structure of mercabto oxadiazole ring which is known to posses a number of therapeutically applications and to investigate the coordination behavior of the new compound (Z) toward some transition metal ions.
The compound (Z) was prepared by condensation of formaldehyde and appropriate amine (diphenyl amine) respectively with (-5-phenyl-2- thion -1,3,4-oxadiazole) derivative in ethanol solution the product were isolated, studied and characterization by appropriate physical measurement, i.e., FT-IR spectroscopy and elemental analysis (C.H.N.S). T
The new compound (Z) have been used as a ligand to prepare a number of new complexes with the selected metal ions. All the new prepared metals complexes have been isolated characterized and studied in solid state by studying their physicochemical and analytical properties such as FT-IR UV-Vis. Spectra, In addition The stereochemistry around the metal ion has been suggested using flame atomic absorption and elemental analysis (C.H.N.S), also the characterization of melting points.The anti bacterial activity for ligand and its complexes were studied against two selected micro organisms, gram negative Pseudomonas aeruginosa and gram positive Bacillus Subtilis.
