Religious features in modern Hebrew poetry

Abstract

Literature is in fact the mirror of peoples, the source of their inspiration and the title of their civilization, so the progress of nations is measured in part by their literature in quantity and quality, and there is no literature ancient or modern influenced by religious belief, and it has shown religious features and has been dyed with its color and formed according to its concepts, and has faithfully translated from all its details its right and falsehood, small and large, its appearance and its interior like Hebrew literature, ancient and modern. The student of this literature can discern the features of the influence infused and scattered in large areas of modern Hebrew poetry by the Jewish religious faith, and recall the images and stories of Jewish history that have formed, adapted and painted the psychological, personal and moral features of the Jewish individual throughout their history, by studying some of the poetic literary works of various Jewish poets, and how their doctrinal commitment and religious thinking have had a profound and visible impact on most of their literary and poetic works, by formulating those doctrines and ideas into forms and works of a clear phenomenon that does not need to be needed. In its understanding and statement to the great effort or to the use of symbols, signs, images of interpretation and puns to convey what is in the mind of the writer to the listener or reader.
