Abstract

Research in (Linguistics) is still a continuous matter since the Middle Ages until its development in the Renaissance, and then the scope of its research quickly expanded until it included the contrastive analysis according to which this study came to search for the precise (linguistic and idiomatic) meaning of the terms (dictionary and lexicon) in the two languages ( Arabic and English), the difference between them , the date of their appearance and their use in the Arabic language, and the corresponding word in the English language, with the introduction of the pioneers of this industry, which began among the Arabs at the hands of Sheikh
(Al Khalil Ibn Ahmed Al Farahidi 718-786 AD) when he authored the book (Al Ain) in second century Hijri / the eighth century AD, and it began with the English people at the hands of Dr.(Samule Johnson 1709-1784 AD) when he authored the first English dictionary in 1755 and then developed through the ages, as this industry is considered one of the works that have been needed for several centuris and until the present time because of its(
