Guarantees of the accused in the Rome Statute (The International Criminal Court as a model)

Abstract

This study discusses the guarantees of the accused in the Rome Statute, as they were addressed through the International Criminal Court, reviewing the most important rights mentioned in the Statute, including the right to the use of a lawyer, the publicity of the trial, the confidentiality of blogging, and informing him of the course of the investigation and other guarantees, the researcher used the analytical legal approach. The study has reached many results, the most important of which is that the Rome Statute guarantees many guarantees and rights for the accused despite his competence in crimes that threaten international peace and security, including genocide, war crimes and others.
