Trends of press coverage of the Russian-Ukrainian crisis in the Iraqi press Analytical study of Al-Sabah and Al-Zaman newspapers for the period from 1/4/2022 to 30/4/2022

Abstract

The research aims to identify the trends of press coverage of the Russian-Ukrainian crisis in the Iraqi press. The research problem was formulated with a number of questions which the researcher sought to answer through research and study... He identified them as fol-lows: What are the trends of press coverage of the Russian-Ukrainian crisis in the Iraqi press? What are the journalistic forms and arts em-ployed by the Iraqi press in covering the crisis?
This research is a descriptive research. The researcher used the de-scriptive analytical method to achieve the objectives of the research. The researcher used the content analysis tool as a research tool to analyze the newspapers of Al-Sabah and Al-Zaman newspapers. Until 30/4/2022 the research was divided into three axes. The first dealt with the methodological framework of the research while the sec-ond dealt with the theoretical framework for the research and the third dealt with the results of the analytical study.
The research reached a set of results the most important of which are: The results of the analytical study showed that the position of the United States of America regarding the crisis topped the topics related to the Russian-Ukrainian crisis that the two study newspa-pers were interested in with a percentage of (29.5%) in the two study newspapers as Al-Sabah newspaper got a percentage of (27.7%) while Al-Zaman newspaper got a percentage of (33.3%).
