The effectiveness of a program based on positive psy-chological support in reducing the sense of self-fragmen-tation among adolescents
Abstract
The current research seeks to identify the effectiveness of a program based on positive psychological support in reducing the sense of self-fragmentation among adolescents. In order to achieve the ob-jectives of the current research, the researcher used the experimental approach through an experimental design consisting of two experi-mental and control groups, verifying the equivalence of both groups in a set of variables, as well as adopting a measure to measure self-frag-mentation and verifying its appropriate psychometric characteristics of validity and stability, and building a mentoring program According to the positive psychological support, and after applying the program, the study reached the following results:
1- Positive psychological support caused a clear positive change in reducing self-fragmentation as a result of the differences in the post-test and the pre-test, and thus it can be relied upon in extension stud-ies and for samples similar to the current research sample.
2- Positive psychological support was appropriate for secondary school students, the current research sample.
3- The appropriateness of the activities and strategies used in the current research.
4- The followers of group counseling techniques (self-acceptance, independence, control over the environment, positive relationships with others, purposeful life, personal growth) had a positive effect in reducing self-fragmentation.
