Abstract

In the realm of novel writing, the artistry and techniques employedhave undergone significant evolution throughout history. Writershave employed various methods and tools to enhance their creativeprocess. This paper aims to provide a comprehensive critique of thepast, present, and future approaches and instruments utilized innovel writing. The scope of this critique encompasses an in-depthanalysis of historical methods, an evaluation of contemporary toolsand practices, and a contemplation of prospective advancementsthat may shape the future landscape of novel writing, examining howcharacters have evolved over time and the factors that have influencedtheir representation. The paper also discusses the impact of societalchanges, such as shifting social norms, evolving views on gender, race,and class, and the influence of psychological theories on the portrayalof characters. Furthermore, It reflects on how the Arabic novel hascontributed to shaping the collective memory, historical consciousness,and cultural identity of Arab societies. Moreover, the implications ofthe interplay between the past and the future in the Arab novel arediscussed.
